After checking out the recently released NCAA Football for both iPhone (worth checking out) and iPhone 4 (avoid like the plague unless you like incredibly slow football), we figured that EA Sports would cool its jets for a little while on the Apple front. Ha, how foolish we were. Next month, the company will bring its bigger football franchise, Madden NFL 11, to the iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad. Although pricing details haven’t been revealed yet, we’re guessing it’ll go around the $9.99 range.
Draw your keys to success with the iPhone/iPad screens!
Parts of the gameplay will be similar to what NCAA Football brought to the table, particularly with setting up your own routes on particular plays and controlling specific actions with the player who’s got the ball. However, Madden has a few features all its own, namely GameFlow. It’s similar to what the console versions will offer, as you can use expanded options for hot routes without needing to take hours to study the “perfect play” to score on. The game will also feature defensive tweaks, so playing as a defensive back trying to smack away the ball will be more fun this time around, compared to last year’s game.
Hmm…where to pass…?
